Random Trilogy Snippets, Part Four: The Biggest Battle is Spiritual (Part One)

Folks, I called my first novel in The Prodigal Band Trilogy ‘Battle of the Band’ for a reason. Not because there are contests called ‘Battle of the Bands.’ But because the ‘battle’ the prodigal band Sound Unltd undergoes is truly a spiritual battle whereby the spiritual forces of good vs. evil wage war to get this band on their sides—while the evil side ‘wins’ the band early, rewarding the band with fame and fortune as long as the band complies with the will of the evil side, the ‘war’ is won by the forces of good: the Creator, the angels known as the Tooters, and the human/spirit being, the ‘witch’ of the Hovels aka Morwenna as the band undergoes their assigned ‘missions of God’ and accepts Christ as Savior.

This snippet set on the spiritual battle features the battles between the Tooters and the satanic character Corion and his Demons (Gold, Silver, Bronze) along with two evil characters possessed by the evil, fake healer and new age cult leader Cole Blessing and his replacement, Mark Besst. The snippets are short. The first one is from Chapter Eight of Battle of the Band; the middle ones follow each other and are within the final chapter of The Prophesied Band, the final two are from Chapter Seventeen of The Prodigal Band. Random Trilogy Snippets, Part Two: Consequences of Allegiance to Evil

It is not easy to choose random topics for The Prodigal Band Trilogy snippet posts when so many categories and topics have already been ‘snippeted’ if you know what I mean. But I feel it is important to stress messages that need to be written about, and what with this world seemingly turning more and more evil as time goes on, the subject of ‘good vs. evil’ needs to be revisited every now and then.

Allegiance to evil is not the same as doing bad things or saying bad things or hurtful things as part of a lifestyle one has dug oneself into within a spiritual hole leading one to commit random evil acts such as theft or deliberate deception or murder or self-harm or addictions or joining gangs or groups promoting destructive ideas or joining cults, and such. Allegiance to evil means willfully and wittingly doing the bidding of evil physical or spiritual forces for the benefit one ‘sells one’s soul’ to achieve. I’m not talking ‘fame and fortune’ here; I’m talking about things like ‘immortality’ or god-like status or supreme power, things the forces of evil could ‘grant’ one if and only if one gives complete allegiance to this evil, perhaps convincing oneself that this evil is actually ‘spiritual goodness’ because the evil has convinced one of this deception disguised as ‘truth.’

According to the Book if Isaiah, King James Bible (copyright-free), this relates to the notion that the evil, called ‘Lucifer,’ and in other parts, called Satan and names of the various false gods of the day (Baal, Beelzebub, Remphan, Moloch, etc.), is actually deceiving itself. Verses 12 through 15 of Isaiah Chapter 14 explain this as what some Bible teachers and pundits call “the five ‘I wills’”:

{14:12} How art

thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!

[how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken

the nations! {14:13} For thou hast said in thine heart, I will

ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of

God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in

the sides of the north: {14:14} I will ascend above the

heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. {14:15}

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the

pit.

Thus, Satan or Lucifer or the name of this Evil character in my trilogy, Corion, cannot deceive God, called in the trilogy ‘the Creator.’ But Corion can, quite easily, deceive those who owe allegiance and willingly give allegiance to him, especially if the one giving allegiance has also deceived the evil Corion! And no evil character in my novels had deceived Corion more than Crynnwagg, originally the High Priest of the Celtic Druid-hating Crag-Dweller cult that inhabited the mountains of Wales around the time of the Roman invasions under Emperors Claudius and Nero in the 40s and 50s AD.

Below is the original Foreword to the original, copyright 2018 by Deborah Lagarde, version of the third novel of The Prodigal Band Trilogy, The Prodigal Band, which is available as a FREE PDF download at the link in the menu above. It turns out, however, that calling this a ‘Foreword’ was a mistake since I wrote it; Forewords are usually written by another person; a Publisher, an Editor, or a Beta Reader. It should have been called an ‘Introduction.’

Further, Foreword or Introduction, the words below do state the ultimate purpose of the novel and the trilogy as a whole. Cheers!

Symbolism Within The Prodigal Band Trilogy, Part Two

This symbolism post will deal with the evil character Corion, the Corionic Cross and the Red Crystal of Corion. I used to name Corion because it sounds like the star system Orion and it just came into my head when I began writing the trilogy. Why Orion? Because when I was growing up on Long Island, what with all the street lights and pollution and the fact that I almost never saw any stars even on a clear night, the only star cluster that I could see clearly was Orion’s Belt. That is why I chose the Orion system to help name my character, that happens to be the evil satanic character in the trilogy.

As for the Corionic Cross… why a cross? Because crosses are huge in terms of symbology. Every Christian sect or society seems to use crosses thanks to the crucifixion cross of Christ at Calvary: Jesuits, Dominicans, Orthodox, various Protestants and Catholics, Rosicrucians (their cross looks like a rose), Knights Templar and others. And the satanic groups also use crosses, turning them upside down. And the Corion cultists did use a cross of sorts.

Since band guitarist-producer Mick was a follower of an ancient cult in Wales called the Crag-Dwellers and their god was Corion and Corion had a cross, he decided that the prodigal band Sound Unltd would use a similar cross to be their band logo. The cross and the logo used snakes. The cross and logo (pictured above) are featured on the original cover of the first novel in the trilogy, Battle of the Band.

Snippets of The Prodigal Band Trilogy Controversial Topics Series: Episode Six-The Consequences of Poverty and Debt (Part Two)

In Part One, the previous post, I explained why I turned the prodigal band’s drummer, Tom, from being born into an impoverished family into being the son of an indentured servant and explained what an indenture is. Now I will post snippets beginning in Chapter One of Battle of the Band, the first novel in The Prodigal Band Trilogy, to set up the scenario of consequences of this indebtedness on not only the one whose father was indebted but also the owner of the debt, who would pay a huge price should the debt be paid off.

The first of several snippets begins with someone among a group of very powerful overlords within the secretive Novordo Club discussing using the prodigal band, Sound Unltd, for their nefarious purposes of debauching youth culture. After ‘Mr. Y’ states why singer Erik, guitarists Jack and Mick, and keyboard synthist Bry would do anything to achieve fame and fortune for their own purposes, drummer Tom is mentioned.

Parable from Luke 15: Prodigal Son Meets Prodigal Band (Part 3)

In Part One of this Prodigal Son meets Prodigal Band sub-series using Biblical References is recounted the ‘riotous living’ of the band using the talent ‘inheritance’ given to the six band members using their fame and fortunes. In Part Two is recounted their spiritual wastelands and empty lives of alcoholism, drug abuse and personal emptiness. In this Part Three, the prodigal band is coming to grips with the fact that they must turn their lives around and at the same time, spiritual forces of Good are aiding their efforts by giving them ‘missions of God’ beginning in Chapter Nine of The Prophesied Band. The spirit being known as the ‘witch of the Hovels,’ aka Morwenna in The Prodigal Band, tells them that The Tooters, God’s angels, will ‘reveal’ their missions ‘of God’ to them as they perform at the local trade and music festival in the middle of July, 2000. In Chapter Ten, their missions are given to them by The Tooters simultaneously as singer Erik holds the final note of a song for over one minute to end the festival.

Here are the verses that are being considered in this post from Luke 15: 18-20:

15:18: “I will arise and go to my father, and I will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before thee”

15:19: “And am no more worthy to be called they son: make me as one of thy hired servants.”

Verse 20 begins by saying ‘And he arose, and came to his father.’

But while they are willing to carry out their ‘missions,’ they would prefer not to ‘do missions on themselves’ so to speak. While their missions involve spreading the Good News about accepting Christ as Savior, they are not necessarily willing to accept Christ themselves. They believe they’ve been ‘too sinful’ and doubt they could even consider accepting Christ. But that nagging feeling haunts them, knowing that not doing so while being “missionaries” makes them hypocrites. It is the commitment to ‘being hired’ by Christ that is standing in the way. Such that it will take a special nudge by spiritual Good to get them to choose to be ‘hired.’ This happens in the spiritual void they find themselves in Chapter Eleven of The Prodigal Band.

The Prodigal Band Trilogy Original Deleted Scenes, Part Seven

Welcome to the next episode in the ‘Deleted Scenes’ series of sections of the original trilogy novels that were not included in the three-books-in-one The Prodigal Band Trilogy. It has been a while since I have posted in this series as loved ones had come out for a visit. So here goes.

In this episode which gives more detail to a sinister event that happened on top of the burning of the band’s jet as it landed at a London Airport for an important meeting that never happened–it was a ruse to get the band to London so that even more nefarious events could happen, but didn’t (in Chapters Eleven, Twelve, and Thirteen)–the forces of evil tried another nefarious event to get even with the prodigal band for not toeing the evil line anymore, but instead siding with Good. The Evil couldn’t burn them in the jet, so instead it chose to burn them at home, so to speak.
