Random Trilogy Snippets, Part Four: The Biggest Battle is Spiritual (Part Four)

Welcome to the fourth The Prodigal Band Trilogy snippet post dealing with spiritual battles between the forces of good vs. evil, and between good or evil forces and the characters, notably the band members. This post isn’t really a spiritual ‘battle,’ though this action, where the Tooters, angels of ‘the Almighty,’ speak directly to each member of the prodigal band Sound Unltd—simultaneously—brings about a battle of sorts later! And what these angels speak is each band member’s ‘mission of God’ that the ‘witch’ of the Hovels, at the behest of the Tooters, informed the band about at a recent meeting, which took place across from the Tooters statue in Victoria Park in the band’s home city of Walltown, early June, 2000.

For she had already instructed the band leader Jack as well as drummer Tom that the band must perform at the upcoming Walltown Music and Trade Festival that would take place July 15-16, as headliners. In other words, the band had roughly six weeks to get the festival set-ups ready for hundreds of thousands of festival goers, including setting up bleachers on either side of the park as well as large video screens and television and recording crews—and the band would pay the entire costs of the festival, and would perform for free!

Snippets of The Prodigal Band Trilogy: Spiritual

Gee, Hallowe’en is almost here! Time for spiritual snippets! After all, I’ve already done horror, paranormal, fantasy, and two occult snippets, part 1 and part 2…or should I have left the occult snippets for Hallowe’en? But anyway….

These snippets involve actual (fictional) duals between the good and evil spiritual forces as well as communication between the Evil and its human minions. I could mention many instances here, but three snippets should be enough, and they are shorter than usual; some of my snippets have been quite long!

Snippets of The Prodigal Band Trilogy: Fantasy

The Fantasy genre can be defined in many ways as it mixes in with Science Fiction or Horror-Occultic or Spiritual or even Dystopian genres. But The Prodigal Band Trilogy does not take place on some fantasy world in another galaxy or another planet or another time frame, but in the modern times mostly in the time frame of late 70s to early 2000s, mostly in the UK or the US, mostly in southeast England, NYC, LA area or the Bay Area or in the fictitious city of Walltown in northeast England where the band, Sound Unltd, is from, or the Bay Area fictitious city called Richmont. Yet that’s not the fantasy part.

Both the first chapter of Battle of the Band and the first chapter of The Prodigal Band begin in the “beforetime” realm of God in heaven with the fallen angels being cast into the Abyss, and on Earth in the 1130s in Walltown, which in the year 1136 is burning, having been cursed by an evil Duke calling forth Demons to burn the residences of rebellious serfs. Meanwhile angelic forces entering the city through a portal where a three-part angelic statue is being built, come to inhabit that statue where they sit in spirit as they put out the fire. Since the statue-figures have music horns, the statue is called The Tooters.

Another force for good–truly a fantasy character–an old woman considered a ‘witch’ by the locals, Morwenna being her name, is able to channel The Tooters for the cause of good. As she is given a song that will be passed down to future generations to save the town from evil, she suddenly by divine intervention becomes young again, and is able to mate with the man who will raise a son to pass down the song for over 800 years. What can be more fantasy than a woman who grows old and young and old and young for 800 years to assure the song is passed down to what would become a ‘prophesied’ band.
